Our Rebranding Story

Indigenous Pact Rebranding Story

Indigenous Pact—a Journey Towards Unity and Transformation

In early 2023, we embarked on a transformative path to redefine our identity and deepen our commitment to the Native American communities we serve. This rebrand journey goes beyond just new logos and colors; it's about creating a visual and emotional language that embodies our core mission—to create health equity for American Indians and Alaska Natives in one generation.

The Big Idea: Solidarity

At Indigenous Pact, we believe health is the starting point for building strong communities. Our mission goes beyond traditional healthcare delivery—we're building a PACT of Native Nations that transforms individual sustainability into collective power. This solidarity gives our communities the scale needed to create truly equitable systems of care, ensuring all Native Americans can access quality healthcare, no matter where they are.

This powerful concept of solidarity drives our new brand identity. Just as individual triangles come together to form the Star Quilt in our logo, individual tribes unite to form something greater than the sum of their parts. It's a visual representation of our fundamental belief: when we stand together, we can transform healthcare for all our people.

The Values That Guide Us

Our rebrand is shaped by four core values that define not just how we look, but how we serve our communities:

Brave

We challenge conventions and advocate for collaboration, providing Tribal leaders with the motivation and support needed to take meaningful steps toward positive change. Our visual identity reflects this courage, showing how small actions can lead to transformative outcomes when we work together.

Empathetic

We proactively acknowledge and honor the unique history, values, and challenges of each individual Tribe. This understanding shapes our approach, creating experiences that are both caring and carefully crafted for each community we serve.

Wise

We share our expertise with clarity, precision, and empathy. Our visual system thoughtfully translates complex concepts into intuitive, easily accessible insights for all.

Transformative

Work toward a clear vision that aims to transform systems of care. Through adaption and inspiration, we drive significant improvements in value for every community we serve.

The Star Quilt: A Symbol of Unity

Central to our new visual identity is the Star Quilt, a profound symbol of honor in many Native American cultures. Traditionally given as a gift of great significance, the Star Quilt represents more than just artistic beauty—it tells a story of connection and community. Our logo draws inspiration from this sacred tradition, with differently colored triangles coming together to form a greater star symbol, much like how different Native Nations unite to form our collective PACT.

This wasn't just a design choice—it was a deeply considered decision to honor our heritage while creating something meaningful for our future. The star pattern serves as a powerful metaphor for our mission: individual elements working in harmony to create something greater than the sum of their parts.

Celebrating Our Collective Strength

Our new brand identity celebrates the power of unity. We bring together multiple perspectives, communities, and viewpoints into a singular force for positive change. This "stronger together" philosophy isn't just a tagline—it's woven into every aspect of our visual system, from the way we showcase portraits and stories of different tribal nations to how our design elements work in coordination to create impact.

The solidarity quilt concept extends beyond our logo, influencing every piece of our visual communication. It represents the interweaving of traditional wisdom with modern healthcare solutions, creating a framework that's both culturally rich and forward-looking.

Honoring Heritage While Embracing Change

In developing our new identity, we've struck a careful balance between honoring our indigenous heritage and motivating positive change. Our visual symbols are deeply rooted in indigenous art and traditions but reinterpreted in a modern, accessible way. This approach ensures our identity resonates across generations, connecting our past to our future without alienating either young or old.

This balance is particularly important in healthcare, where traditional practices and modern medicine must work together to create the best outcomes for our communities. Our visual identity reflects this harmony, showing how respect for tradition can coexist with innovation in healthcare delivery.

A Clear Vision for the Future

While our identity is dynamic and flexible, every expression is anchored in the central idea of the solidarity quilt. This consistency helps us present complex healthcare information in a clear, accessible way while maintaining the powerful message of tribal solidarity and community strength.

Our design system challenges stereotypical representations of indigenous culture and people. Instead, we celebrate both individual stories and collective power, showcasing the unique values of different communities while emphasizing our shared strength when we come together.

The Path Forward

As we implement this new identity, every interaction and initiative will be guided by our commitment to unity and transformation. From our communication materials to our healthcare delivery models, each element works together to create a cohesive experience that honors our traditions while building toward a healthier future.

This rebrand represents more than a visual refresh—it's a recommitment to our mission and a celebration of our collective potential. The solidarity quilt concept reminds us that each community brings unique strengths to our shared goal of health equity, and together, we create something both beautiful and powerful.

A Future Woven Together

As we step into this new chapter, we invite you to join us in this transformative journey. Our new identity will continue to evolve and grow, just as our communities do, always guided by the principles of solidarity, respect, and hope for a healthier future.
